Poem: Momemory

I was lucky enough to do a Movement and Poetry workshop with Akasha Dance Company earlier this week, and here is the poem I came up with (I’ll save you seeing a video of me moving to it!):

‘Momemory’

Receding waves bring salt licks and shushes,
Dune grass whispers in cool autumn night;
Toes click scrunching into drying sand.
I am brittle as hollowed driftwood,
Slowly becoming
And going.
But here.
